Funding Your Education

Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies is committed to providing adult learners and working professionals with access to a quality education. We encourage all students to apply for financial assistance when they apply for admission. With the help of federal, state, and University scholarship programs, combined with a choice of payment options, you will find that a part-time Northeastern education is quite affordable.

Undergraduate

With the help of federal, state, and University scholarship programs, combined with a choice of payment options, you will find that a part-time Northeastern education is more affordable than you think. For many students, financial aid reduces out-of-pocket expenses and lessens the published tuition expenses considerably.

We are here to help you explore options for financial aid: private loans, grants based on financial need, scholarships, and more. We are committed to doing everything we can to make a College of Professional Studies or Lowell Institute School education financially possible.

Applying for financial assistance is easy. If you are new to or returning to The College of Professional Studies and Lowell Institute School, you can start the process by visiting the Student Financial Services financial aid site at http://www.financialaid.neu.edu/home.php.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OPTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Scholarships awarded on the basis of academic ability and/or financial need. (The College of Professional Studies and Lowell Institute School have more than 30 such grant programs.)
  • Lowell Family Scholarships.
  • Loans available at a favorable interest rate that must be repaid over time.
  • Grants and loans from the federal government that provide funds for qualifying students. (Both the federal Pell Grant Program and the Stafford Loan Program provide funds.)
  • The Commonwealth of Massachusetts scholarship program offered to state residents.
  • Financial aid for international students.
  • Tuition reimbursement may be available from your employer.
  • University Payment Plans.

Graduate

Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies is committed to providing working and aspiring professionals with access to a quality graduate education that is structured to allow participants the ability to maintain full-time work commitments. If you determine that the College of Professional Studies is the school best suited to meet your educational needs and objectives, we will work with you to identify financial aid options that can help make a Northeastern University graduate education affordable. Many of our students also find they have access to employer reimbursement plans that can be applied towards a graduate education.

We encourage all applicants to apply for financial assistance when applying to one of our graduate certificate or degree programs. Fill out the financial aid form included in this catalog and you will receive additional financial aid information.

In addition to a variety of loan, grant, and scholarship programs, every College of Professional Studies graduate student can take advantage of Northeastern's interest-free monthly payment plan. This is a short-term plan administered through American Management Services. There is an enrollment fee. More information can be obtained through Northeastern's Customer Service Center at 617.373.2270.
