BTC 6125 4 Quarter Hours
Course Level CPS - Graduate
Description Surveys available expression measurement techniques with a discussion of their relative strengths and weaknesses. The explosion in microarray technologies allows scientists to measure the expression level of thousands of genes simultaneously from a single biological sample on one “gene chip.” The course offers students an opportunity for hands-on practice searching databases for sequence similarities. Discusses data visualization and clustering and analysis, including applications to toxicology, drug target, and diagnostic marker discovery.
