Introduction to Public History
HST4265 / 3 q.h.
Students learn about the field of public history. The course develops research, analytical, writing, and speaking skills. Topics include the nature of museum work, public historical archiving, the construction of historical displays and exhibits, the preservation and restoration of historic sites and structures, the editing of historical documents and journals, the operation of historical societies, and the production of historical media programs.
