Adaptive Learning/Behavior Management Strategies: Consultation and Collaboration

Description Seeks to extend participants’ competence in theory, research, and practice pertaining to creating a sense of classroom community, family engagement, and school culture. Examines behavior management approaches and offers participants an opportunity to develop practical interventions and skills for preventing, intervening, and remediating behavior problems. Participants also have an opportunity to apply inclusive principles to the classroom, examine student issues and learning needs, and analyze delivery models to consider how to impact participants’ teaching, classroom, and school.

Notes This is an advanced special education course. All students must have successfully completed EDU 6107 or a general education licensure program. This is a hybrid course with both an online and an onground component. The course begins online on January 9 and ends on April 1. The course also meets on the Boston campus from 5:50PM-8:50PM on the following Thursdays: 1/19, 2/2, 2/16, 3/2, 3/16, 3/30.
