Current and Emerging Practice in STEM Education

Description Examines standards-based curricula in current use and under development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in grades K–12. Focuses on the capacity of these curricula to promote scientific literacy and facilitate conceptual understanding of scientific principles through guided inquiry and other modes of instruction. Explores curricula that develop and apply mathematical skills to solving significant scientific problems. Analyzes the fidelity of implementing these standards and their impact on student learning as measured by national and international tests, including TIMSS and PISA.
