MET 3301 2 Semester Hours
Course Level CPS - Undergraduate Semester
Description Accompanies MET 3300. Experimental activities include sample preparation, microstructure analysis, cooling arches, binary phase diagrams, and experimental determination of thermophysical properties. Experimental themes include optical microscopy, heat treatment of engineering materials, hardening and hardness testing of materials, equilibrium phase diagrams, recrystallization and grain growth, and X-diffraction analysis. Uses modern techniques for materials characterization and relates them to engineering design of hardware.
