Applying to the Doctor of Education program at Northeastern University
Ready to apply for your EdD? You’ll need a resume, an admissions statement, and three references to submit the online application.

Review our Admissions Requirements first for specific instructions. You can log in to start your application and save progress to continue later.

There is no application fee, and we don’t require applicants to take the GRE or other academic tests.

Apply for one of two start options to begin classes in either January, or September. Learn about the concentrations we offer and choose the one that’s right for you before applying.

Application Deadlines

You must submit all application requirements and complete your application before the deadlines below in order to begin during your desired term. We recommend that you complete your application in advance of the general review deadline.

Fall Term (classes begin in September) - Boston, Charlotte, Seattle 

  • Priority Deadline – April 3rd 
  • Final Deadline – August 15th 

Winter Term (classes begin in January) - Boston

  • Priority Deadline – September 18th 
  • Final Deadline – November 15th 

International Student Eligibility

Please note that the University is not authorized to issue Certificates of Eligibility (I-20 documents for F-1 visa classification) for the Doctor of Education program at this time for initial attendance or transfer. If you are currently in the U.S. under a non-immigrant status other than F-1 and eligible to study under that visa classification, please provide a complete Data Form, accessible through the myOGS system here, upon acceptance into this program. Students in tourist status (B1/B2 or WB/WT) are not eligible to participate in the residency requirement component of this program.
