Boston Summer Residency

EdD Summer Residency Students
For the offline portion of our EdD program in Boston, you’ll spend an intensive week on the Boston campus in an immersive environment that combines face-to-face discussions, group activities, and presentations. Attend workshops with faculty who study a diverse range of research topics and theories, and talk with fellow students about how they apply what they’re learning in their own work environments.

“It was exhausting, incredibly intense, and incredibly wonderful at the same time. The best piece was meeting my professors and other students. It is a different kind of learning. Four hours in the classroom felt relaxed compared to learning online.”
Summer residency courses are 3.0-quarter-hour courses in an on-site/online hybrid format. They begin online at the start of the summer term, meet for one week of face-to-face instruction in Boston, and finish online. Our EdD program requires two summer residency courses to complete a degree.

On-campus housing is available in one of Northeastern's state-of-the-art complexes. We offer private, single bedrooms with semi-private baths. Features include:

  • Central air
  • Elevators

  • Vending areas
