Notes:
Dr. Mary Ann Wilmarth is the Director of the Transitional DPT Program as well as an Assistant Dean for Health within the School of Professional Studies at Northeastern University. Dr. Wilmarth coordinates the doctoral capstone work for all of the students in the DPT program.
Before starting in the position of Director of the transitional DPT program with Bouve Institute, Dr. Wilmarth was teaching the PT Project classes for the entry-level physical therapy program with the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University.
Dr. Wilmarth started teaching at Northeastern University in 1996 with the Musculoskeletal Evaluation and Treatment classes and labs. She did this for many years before becoming more involved with the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association as the Editor for their Independent Study Courses. Dr. Wilmarth's work as editor went from 2001 until 2007.
Dr. Wilmarth is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. In addition, she has her certification in Manual Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment from the McKenzie Institute. She received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Duke University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. In addition, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and art from Middlebury College.
Dr. Wilmarth remains active clinically with her own practice specializing in Orthopaedics, Manual Therapy and Sports Medicine. She enjoys working with athletes varying from young children to professional athletes. Her other areas of specialization include temporomandibular disorder and orthotics. Her work with posture and spinal stabilization has led her to be a national spokesperson for the APTA on Backpack Awareness.
Prior to returning to New England Dr. Wilmarth had her own practice in California. She has done presentations throughout the world on various topics in her areas of expertise. In addition, Dr. Wilmarth has numerous articles and chapters in different journals and publications ranging from The Journal of Physical Therapy to Forbes.
According to Dr. Wilmarth, "In my spare time I take care of my three children (ages 16, 16, 14) and two dogs. I drive a lot and go to the various sporting events for my children including tennis, soccer, football, field hockey, hockey, squash, lacrosse and skiing. Yes, I spend a lot of time in the car and on fields!" She also plays tennis and goes on long walks as much as possible.

Ross Biederman
Notes:
Dr. Ross Biederman has taught Medical Imaging at several west coast university DPT and transitional DPT programs, including Azusa Pacific University where he is a full time professor, Loma Linda University, California State University at Northridge, and Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Biederman has also had the pleasure of doing both Pre-Conference one- and two-day conference Medical Imaging courses for the American Physical Therapy Association as well as PT2020 seminars in various imaging topics.
Dr. Biederman's background is in private medical practice with emphasis on lower-extremity surgery. He is board certified in surgery, licensed as a Radiography Supervisor and Operator in the state of California, a Qualified Medical Examiner in California, and has had the opportunity to read thousands of films in training, private practice, and with radiologists. Dr. Biederman's training took him to UC Medical Centers, USC, Stanford University, the University of Texas Medical Center and other places, thus he has had the benefit of learning from many very skillful instructors and mentors.
Dr. Biederman has done presentations throughout the country and has numerous publications to his name.
Dr. Biederman left private practice after 15 years due to a hand injury and was fortunate to begin teaching at Azusa Pacific University in the DPT program 6 years ago. Dr. Biederman states, "It has been a great experience. Physical therapy has become my new "home" and it has been a lot of fun. The Physical Therapy profession is at an exciting time in its growth and evolution."

In private practice since 1984, Dr. DuVall is an Orthopaedic/Manual Physical Therapist and Director of the Primary Care Residency and APTA Credentialed Manual Therapy Fellowship Programs at SportsMedicine of Atlanta. Practicing as a primary contact physical therapy practitioner, Dr. DuVall has clinically coordinated care for greater than 15,000 patients prior to physician intervention. He was the physical therapist to the 1996, 2000, and 2004 U.S. Olympic Shooting Teams, serving in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens.
Dr. DuVall is ABPTS Board Certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He has obtained Athletic Training Certification and Manual Therapy Certification, as well as being the first physical therapist certified in Primary Care Physical Therapy by the University of St. Augustine. In addition, Dr. DuVall teaches "Autonomous Physical Therapy Practice" and "Differential Diagnostics" courses at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Science. He is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor for the programs in physical therapy at both Duke University and Washington University at St Louis.
Dr. DuVall obtained an Advanced Master of Medical Science degree from Emory University School of Medicine and has completed a post-professional doctorate in the area of Primary Care from the
University
of
St. Augustine. His doctoral research included conducting a primary contact physical therapy practice analysis from which clinical competencies were identified to scientifically define the physical therapists' role in primary contact care. This research was published in The Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy in June 2004.
Dr. DuVall has initiated and developed a petition to formulate the Primary Care Physical Therapy Educational Group within the Orthopaedic Section of the APTA. He has made national and international presentations on the topics of Movement Impairment Diagnostics, Autonomous Practice and Primary Care Physical Therapy. Likewise, Dr. DuVall has had articles on Primary Care Physical Therapy published in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice and Advance for Rehabilitation Directors.
Dr. DuVall currently serves as the programming Chair for the APTA's Private Practice Section and is the Author of three monographs for the APTA's 2004 Orthopaedic Section's Autonomous Practice and Medical Screening Physical Therapy Independent Study Course.

Dr. Donato, who has been in clinical practice since 1992, is assistant director of Riverside Physical Therapy in Grants Pass, Oregon. He is licensed to practice in a direct access setting and provide primary contact care. Prior to this, he was the Senior Physical Therapist at Kaiser Permanente-Fontana in
Southern California

Dr. Donato is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Board Certified Hand Therapist, and a Board Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Dr. Donato is a graduate of Loma Linda University (LLU) where he first attained his MPT degree in 1992, and later attained a post-professional DPTSc degree in 2001, with an emphasis in Primary Contact Care. His doctoral dissertation entitled, "Practice Analysis: Defining the Clinical Practice of Primary Contact Physical Therapy" was awarded the Doctoral Student Research Award by LLU and was later published in JOSPT in June 2004.
Dr. Donato also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from LLU. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, he worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at both LLU Medical Center and Redlands Community Hospital in Southern California.
Dr. Donato currently teaches Differential Diagnosis and Medical Screening courses at both Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. He has taught at APTA CSM Pre-Conference Medical Screening courses in 2004 and 2005. In addition, he is an author for the Medical Screening course offered by the APTA Orthopaedic Section Independent Study Course program.
Dr. Donato has given numerous lectures at the state and national level in his area of expertise. He is also a member of various professional organizations that include the American Physical Therapy Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, American Society of Hand Therapists, and American Academy of Pain Management.
This blend of work experiences in both Respiratory and Physical Therapy has given Dr. Donato a unique advantage in providing primary contact care in a direct access health care setting.

Dr. Michael M. Reinold, DPT, ATC, CSCS is currently the Clinical Coordinator and Coordinator of Rehabilitative Research & Clinical Education at Champion Sports Medicine and the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Reinold graduated from the postprofessional sports physical therapy fellowship program at Healthsouth and the American Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of Kevin E. Wilk, PT, James R. Andrews MD, and Glenn S. Fleisig, PhD and is a member of the American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. Dr. Reinold serves as adjunct faculty in the physical therapy programs at South Alabama University in Mobile, AL, and Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and is the Director of Education for the Advanced Continuing Education Institute.
Dr. Reinold is the rehabilitation consultant for Genzyme Biosurgery and serves as a consultant for several companies such as EMPI and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He is also an associate editor of Sports Medicine and Performance Magazine and on the review board of journals such as JOSPT, The American Journal of Orthopedics, and The International Journal of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Reinold participates in a wide variety of clinical and biomechanical research and has published numerous journal articles and book chapters related to rehabilitation and sports medicine. In addition, Dr. Reinold continues to actively lecture at various seminars and national meetings throughout the country.
Dr. Reinold was awarded the 2004 New Horizons Award and the 2002 Excellence in Research Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Ellen Glovsky is an Assistant Clinical Specialist in Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University.
Dr. Glovsky is a Registered Dietitian with a Master's degree in nutrition education as well as a Doctoral degree in Behavioral Health, both from Boston University. She has extensive experience as a clinician specializing in weight management and the treatment of eating disorders as well as nutrition for the prevention of illness. Her current research at Northeastern University is the Healthy Habits in Recovery Project, a study of nutrition intervention strategies for women in the early stages of recovery from substance abuse. The goal of this project is to educate women to improve their dietary and exercise habits and to assist them in smoking cessation.
When asked about the Fostering Change in Health Behavior Course, Dr. Glovsky had this to say, "I'm very excited about this course! I believe that an understanding of how people change in regards to their health is critical to helping them make the necessary changes in their behavior. As I have come to understand and implement these ideas, my clinical practice and teaching have changed significantly. I find I am much more effective in and get more pleasure from my work."

Dr. Gary Rose has been practicing clinical psychology for 27 years and has for the last 10 years been passionately involved in the teaching of health behavior change counseling to professionals in the USA and the UK.
Dr. Rose is a member of the steering committee of MINT, the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. MINT is an international organization of Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainers working under the tutelage of William Miller and Stephen Rollnick, the originators of MI.
In addition, Dr. Rose holds a teaching appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and supports research and training projects at Harvard Medical School, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and the Medical School of the University of Wales.
During the last two years, Dr. Rose has trained hundreds of health professionals in the techniques of Motivational Interviewing, including diabetes educators, nurse case managers, renal social workers, tobacco treatment specialists, nutritionists, pediatricians, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, and addictions professionals.
Dr. Rose had this to say regarding the Fostering Change in Health Behavior Course, "I look forward to teaching you the basics of this exciting approach to health behavior change."

Dr. Jessica Blom-Hoffman is an assistant professor at Northeastern University in the Department of Counseling and Applied Educational Psychology.
Dr. Blom-Hoffman received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Lehigh University. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her areas of specialty include: (1) developing, implementing and evaluating school-based overweight prevention programs, and (2) coordinating care between the school, family, and medical systems for children with medical conditions.
Currently, Dr. Blom-Hoffman is the principal investigator on an NIH-funded grant to implement and evaluate an overweight prevention program in four Boston Public Schools.
When asked about the Fostering Change in Health Behavior Course, Dr. Blom-Hoffman said, "I am looking forward to co-teaching this course because applying theories of health behavior change are central to my work, and I am looking forward to helping you understand them and how they can be used better!"

Christine McCarthy Clark

Christine McCarthy Clark is a Pediatric Dietitian at Children's Hospital Boston.
Ms. Clark works in general pediatric research providing support for the collection of nutrition information among a variety of studies. She also specializes in food allergies.
Ms. Clark recently co-authored a chapter in a Pediatric Nutrition Handbook on Food Allergies. During her work towards her master's degree at the University of Delaware she focused her research on disordered eating among athletes.
Ms. Clark has presented topics in nutrition for various audiences. She has been teaching Basic and Lifecycle Nutrition through the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University for several years.
Ms. Clark states that she "truly enjoys teaching the importance of nutrition and how it relates to ones overall health."
Kattia Corrales-Yauckoes

Kattia Corrales-Yauckoes is a dietitian at the Joslin Clinic in Boston.
Ms. Corrales-Yauckoes specializes in pediatric nutrition, with particular focus during her career in diabetes, gastroenterology and pulmonary diseases.
Ms. Corrales-Yauckoes completed a Master's in Nutrition and Health Promotion and a certificate in Sports Nutrition at Simmons College. Her master's research project on the relationship between gourmet coffee drinks and energy intake was published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
Ms. Corrales-Yauckoes has published a number of chapters on pediatric nutrition and conducted a variety of nutrition presentations at national conferences and universities.
Kattia Corrales-Yauckoes is dedicated to teaching the importance of nutrition in health and well-being. Her practical approach to teaching nutritional concepts takes into consideration individual, cultural and environmental topics in nutrition.

Larry Cahalin is an APTA Board Certified Cardiopulmonary Clinical Specialist who was part of the initial 5-member panel of physical therapists who developed the APTA Preferred Practice Patterns in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
He has been actively involved in clinical research and clinical practice in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy for over 20 years.
His current research and clinical interests include the development of hypothesis-oriented algorithms for the examination and treatment of persons with heart and lung disease and better understanding breathing in persons with heart and lung disease.
