In order to serve you better, the English Language Center has implemented the following guidelines for departments that refer students for English language testing.
If you have students who need to be tested by the English Language Center, please follow these guidelines:
1) Send them to us with the Test Referral Form filled out. Students will not be tested without the information on this form in hand at the start of testing.
2) There is a $50 test referral fee. Students must come with a check made out to “Northeastern University.” We do not accept cash.
3) Send the students to 10 BV on the dates set out below. If the students do not come on the following dates, we cannot guarantee that they will be tested. We simply do not have the personnel to give testing on a walk-in basis.
4) All tests start at 9:00 am. The students should be advised to be on time.

Please note that a student who needs to have his/her English language evaluated may test either at the end of any given semester or at the beginning of any given semester. As a result, any student who wishes to have a schedule in hand on the first day of classes will need to have been tested at the end of the semester that precedes the semester in which the student plans to start.
By providing the student with the information requested on the attached sheet, your department will get more accurate information more quickly. It is the responsibility of the department to make sure that students are informed of the test dates and times and that the student has the necessary information on the attached sheet.
