Carl Zangerl

Carl Zangerl is an Assistant Teaching Professor and the academic director of the Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication program. He designs and delivers courses on Meeting Management, Communication Assessment, Communication Networks, and Foundations of Organizational Communication. Dr. Zangerl also assists in the recruitment of faculty and the development of program curriculum. He was recognized in 2007 with the College of Professional Studies Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Zangerl is the coauthor (with Dick Harris) of several articles on meeting facilitation, organizational assessment, and meeting effectiveness. He served as the vice president of professional development for the Boston Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators for three years, and was a judge for the Public Relations Society of America’s 2012 Silver Anvil Awards.

Previously, Dr. Zangerl was a principal of ZHC Partners, a strategic planning and communication firm, and the director of field and executive communications at New England Financial/MetLife. Prior to a 23-year corporate career, he taught at Stanford University and Purdue University, and he was the chief of staff to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at New York University.
