James GriffinJames E. Griffin is a faculty member in the Graduate Education programs. Dr. Griffin’s research interests include work-integrated learning, faculty development, and outcomes assessment at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His publications include “A Study of Outcomes-Oriented Student Reflection During Internship: The Integrated, Coordinated, and Reflection-Based Model of Learning and Experiential Education” in the Journal of Cooperative Education & Internships, and his presentations include “Work-Based Evidence of Student Competence Attainment” at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Assessment Institute.

Dr. Griffin is an executive, business, and academic leader who has turned around underperforming groups, launched new organizations, and provided leadership and strategic insight to strengthen performance.  He currently consults for commercial and nonprofit organizations. Previously, Dr. Griffin was president and CEO of Coolfish (a division of Slade Gorton & Co., Inc.) in Boston. Prior to that, he was associate provost at Johnson & Wales University and vice president of Academic Affairs at Johnson & Wales’ Denver, Colorado, campus.
