John WolfeJohn Wolfe is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Foundation Year program. His teaching includes online, on-ground, and hybrid formats. Dr. Wolfe has conducted extensive professional work in the Boston Public Schools and in school districts in the New York metropolitan area. Over the years, his work has appeared in The Nation, Instructor Magazine, New Directions in Education, and numerous other publications. After 45 years in academia, Dr. Wolfe still believes that teaching is a moral enterprise and important work worth doing well.

Previously, Dr. Wolfe directed the elementary and secondary special education programs at Bank Street College of Education. He began teaching in 1967 at P.S. 58 in the Bronx, where he learned that “teaching is a moral enterprise.” Subsequently, he directed a small independent school and taught in daycare and at Central Park East 2, one of the network of schools founded by Deborah Meier.
