Sandy Nickel

Sandy Nickel is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Graduate Education programs, including the Doctor of Education program. Dr. Nickel has developed and taught courses in the Master of Science in Leadership program. Her research interests include organizational communication and leadership, online theory and learning processes, women's studies and feminist theory, and rhetorical and critical studies. Dr. Nickel’s publications include “The Rhetoric of Union: A Stylized Utterance” in the Central States Speech Journal; “A Survey of Introductory Women Studies Courses” in the Journal of the National Association of Women Deans, Administrators, and Counselors; and as a contributor to the course text Introduction to Speech Communication.

Previously, Dr. Nickel was the founder of Nashoba Associates, a leadership and organizational development consultant firm. She has served on the faculty or as an administrator at Boston University, the MIT Sloan School of Management, the Connecticut Department of Higher Education, and the University of Missouri.
