Shannon AlpertShannon Alpert is a faculty member in the Doctor of Education program and is part of the Organizational Leadership Studies concentration for the degree program. Her research interests focus on how projects are managed in a variety of settings. Dr. Alpert has reviewed a number of books for the journal Education Review and Performance Improvement, and her paper “An Examination of Assistant Professors’ Project Management Practices” appeared in the International Journal of Educational Management. Her most recent presentation, “Managing Research Projects: An Examination of Assistant Professors’ Practices,” was presented at the Graduate and Professional Student Government Research Fair at the University of North Carolina.

Previously, Dr. Alpert taught doctoral and master’s-level courses for the Instructional Systems Technology program at the University of North Carolina. She spent 15 years leading projects and teams responsible for creating learning solutions in the telecommunications and financial services industries, including serving as senior vice president for Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina.
