Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) is in place in many countries and is gaining momentum in the United States. ILP is a paradigm that furthers the principles of community-oriented policing by fully exploiting the value of a broad range of information in preventing and investigating criminal behavior. The program uses a practice-oriented approach to examine and understand the applicability of traditional intelligence methodology to policing in the United States, the legal, organizational, and perceptual issues related to the topic, and the technical and managerial aspects of an ILP program. |
