Socrates, Salinger and Star Wars: Using the Great Ideas of Philosophy to Teach Literature and Film, was truly illuminating. Quite simply, this was the most thought provoking, fulfilling course I have ever taken during my undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate career.

SUMMER INSTITUTE SERIES

About the Summer Institute Series:
These week-long, content focused courses are offered for graduate credit or professional development points.  Topics address the issues of the day, providing content-rich discourse, current readings, and strategies to support immediate application to classroom curriculum.  Because these programs are designed to be relevant to classroom practice, all participants are required to complete a project - usually related to the development of a lesson plan, unit of study or other delivery model - that demonstrates the applicability of program content to student learning.  Participants are invited to evaluate their experience and give us feedback about the program.

We offer programs for All Teachers, Art, Elementary, English, Guidance, Critical Issues, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Special Education and Martha's Vineyard Summer Institute.

If you have not previously taken a course with us before and would like a brochure mailed to your home contact Tiffany Probasco at t.probasco@neu.edu
