Project Management for Non-Project Managers
Course Code: PDP 5116


Most professionals spend significant amounts of time working on projects, without a real understanding of the purpose of the project, and their individual role. Participants will use the language of project management to improve their communication and effectiveness on projects. We will explore the rights and responsibilities of the various project stakeholders, including team members, customers, and sponsors. Participants will gain an increased understanding of the project environment and be able to make concrete suggestions for improving their work and the impact of their projects.

Who Should Attend
Any individual that contributes to one or more projects will benefit from attending this workshop.

What You Will Learn
• Learn industry standard definitions for project, program, customer, sponsor, stakeholder, and objective
• Know the five process groups of project management
• Describe a project lifecycle and its use in project management
• Define project integration management and the role of the project manager
• Define project stakeholders and determine the key stakeholders for your project
• Write a project charter
• Write a project scope statement
• Develop a work breakdown structure in product and process format
