Project Planning & Schedule Control
Course Code: PDP 5130

Most project managers agree that the core of any successful project is the planning and development of the schedule. This class, compliant with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) framework, teaches the “nuts and bolts” mechanics of planning a project and developing an effective project schedule. The course contains lecture, class discussion, and hands-on experience with a class case study.

Who Should Attend
Program managers, project managers, and project team members who need hands-on experience with how to properly plan and develop a successful project schedule.

What You Will Learn
• Identify the project stakeholders and sponsor
• Recognize what’s in-scope and what’s out-of-scope for the project
• Identify what the customer needs and wants and manage it in the project scope
• Decide on what resources are needed and when they are needed, including the relationship between work, effort, and schedule durations.
• Understand how to identify and manage project risk
• Understand the relationship between risk and contingency

• Be able to develop a success-oriented project schedule, defining, and planning for all project work
• Know how to level project resources and what the effects of leveling could do to the project schedule
• Be able to define the required resources and costs needed to complete project on time, within budget
