A 2-day Workshop for Community Leaders and Public Servants
Truly effective leadership is as rare as it is demanding, requiring courage and skill. Those in public life are charged with serving and representing the citizenry while simultaneously effecting change. Serving and representing are hard and exercising leadership while mobilizing people to effect real change is even more difficult.
Leadership for a Change is a hands-on workshop specifically designed for those serving in the public sector. You will have the chance to get back in touch with your purpose and why public sector leadership matters. The exercises and discussions will explore roadblocks to truly effective leadership, the distinction between authority and leadership, and the difference between technical and adaptive problems. You will be challenged and empowered to enhance your ability and will to effect change on both the individual and community level.
While you'll enjoy the amenities of a retreat like setting, you will be challenged by the rigorous and thought-provoking content. You are invited to fully immerse yourself in this workshop, leaving cell phones, pagers and other distractions behind.

Workshop Dates - May 9-10, 2008
The workshop is held over two days from May 9-10 (9:00 am Friday - 4:30 pm Saturday) at Northeastern University’s Warren Conference Center in Ashland, Massachusetts.
