Summer Session at Northeastern University offers flexibility, convenience, and rich academic rewards. Our broad selection of courses meets the needs of all students—high school students looking to take college-level classes; foreign language speakers looking for intensive English language programs; or college students looking to transfer credits to another institution. Whatever your situation, you’ll find that it’s easy to take just the course that you need. Northeastern University is an ideal place for part-time study.
Summer Session classes will be offered both online through Northeastern University Online (NUOL) and on-the-ground at four of Northeastern University’s campus locations in and around the historic city of Boston. In the city of Boston, courses will be offered at the University’s main campus and at its downtown satellite campus in the Financial District. Summer Session courses will also be available at the University’s suburban locations in Burlington and Dedham.
Northeastern University students have ready access to Boston’s cultural and entertainment resources from the University’s 67-acre campus. Featuring expanses of green and great views of Boston, the University’s home along Boston’s Avenue of the Arts is located near many branches of the city’s mass transit system (the “T”), including the green and orange lines, the commuter rail, and a number bus lines. In addition to its city life, Boston is home to many universities, each of which has its own vibrant student scene. The nearby Back Bay neighborhood features classic brownstone apartments, the famed Hatch Shell concert venue, and excellent shopping and restaurants. Another lively student neighborhood is just across the Charles River in Harvard Square.
For the most modern educational and recreational conveniences, Northeastern University students come to the main campus. Student life on campus is based at the Curry Student Center, which is home to the food court and bookstore. The Snell Library, which features a cyber café on the ground floor, is the heart of academic and research work on campus and is part of the University’s comprehensive library system. And students have many options for relaxing, whether they want to work out or hang out—the University’s recreational facilities include the Marino Recreation Center, and among its many greenways is the spacious Centennial Common.
We hope that you will join our summer community and experience Northeastern University. |
